Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Inventory Control Supervisor for our Inventory department to join our team in our 240,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Markham. You will be responsible for overseeing and performing daily tasks that relate to receiving and maintaining inventory.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain physical and system accuracy of inventory. Investigate and provide reports on discrepancies.

• Manage inbound flow of Fulfillment inventory (scheduling inbound delivery appointments, communicating with last mile carriers). Plan and oversee cycle counts. Floor planning to maximize inventory storage efficiency.

• Working with Operations and Logistics teams to execute efficient inventory movements in/out.

• Ensure team members have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs. Respond to and resolve employee relations issues expressed by team members; create and maintain high quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level.

• Assist Inventory Management team with daily operation to include the development, analyses and implementation of staffing, training, scheduling, and reward/recognition programs. Work as a member/leader of special or on-going projects that are important to area/process improvement.

• Share continual responsibility for deciding how to lead the team members ensuring that work flow is handled efficiently and effectively.

• Implement standard work and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives.

• Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or team member concerns.

• Follow company policies including Workplace Health and safety policies and procedures.

• Maintain a clean and organized Inventory department and warehouse to achieve maximum results.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Inventory Management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 2 year of warehouse experience in inventory management.

• 1-2 years’ experience directly managing a team.

• Able to operate various pieces of equipment/technology (e.g. tablets, desktop computers, pallet jacks, etc.)

• Computer savvy, comfortable learning new software systems, WMS system experience required.

• Forklift Certification preferred.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and overall computer familiarity.

• Team player with a high level of urgency. Able to problem solve and take initiative when needed.

• Highly organized & detail oriented.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

• Self-motivated and goal orientated.
